About

I am Annie Slocum living in Denver, Colorado. I love to cook and eat good food. I have had a voracious appetite for cookbooks and cooking forever! I am obsessed with food and all things relating to it. I read cook books like novels and have an amazing collection of cookbooks! I was fortunate to live in San Francisco for a couple of years and really got exposed to the beauty of that climate and fabulous food. SF remains my favorite city for that reason.

Just came across your blog when looking for info about Elizabeth David’s recipe for ragu. I have At ED’s table here with me – but also An Omelette and a Glass of Wine by ED – and South Wind through the Kitchen also by Jill Norman and perhaps in particular the biography of ED Writing at the Kitchen Table by Artemis Cooper. For my ragu today I am using a recipe from the Guardian newspaper – sadly I don’t have any chicken liver handy and as we are in lockdown I can’t go and get any. But apart from that it should be ok. Best wishes – Alun

    Hi Annie!
It snowed here in Michigan last night so it is a cooking day! We are going to make the great pecans you served us while we were in Denver in February! Can’t wait!
